Matt Pettinger scores twice in 42 seconds as Moose beat IceHogs 2-1

ROCKFORD, Ill. - Matt Pettinger scored goals 42 seconds apart in the third as the Manitoba Moose fought off the Rockford IceHogs 2-1 in American Hockey League play Wednesday.

With Rockford's Brian Bickell serving a double minor for high-sticking, Pettinger tied the game 1-1 at 8:01 of the final period, wristing a shot past IceHogs netminder Alec Richards.

The Moose took the lead at 8:43 when Pettinger beat Richards with a shot glove side.

Manitoba's Dan Sexton assisted on both goals.

After a scoreless first, Kyle Greentree gave Rockford (9-11-3) a 1-0 lead at 13:42 of the second period.

Cory Schneider made 36 saves to pick up the win for the Moose (12-9-3).

Richards stopped 19 shots in defeat.
