Mink scores winner, Allen makes 29 saves as Rivermen slip past Bulldogs 2-1

HAMILTON - Graham Mink scored the winner on the power play in the third and Jake Allen made 29 saves Friday as the Peoria Rivermen downed the Hamilton Bulldogs in American Hockey League play.

Phil McRae had the other goal for Peoria (15-7-2), while Andreas Engqvist replied for Hamilton (14-5-4). Curtis Sanford made 18 saves for the Bulldogs.

After the teams traded goals in the second, Peoria took the lead with 3:45 left in regulation as Mink slotted home a rebound past Sanford.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring at 14:11 of the second on the power play. Kyle Klubertanz sent the puck to Engqvist, who buried his own rebound past Allen.

The Rivermen tied the game 1-1 at 18:05 when McRae intercepted a pass before snapping a shot between Sanford's pads.
