Minnesota Wild defenceman Nate Prosser suspended one game for head-butting

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Minnesota Wild defenceman Nate Prosser was suspended one game Friday for head-butting Chicago Blackhawks forward Jamal Mayers.

The incident happened late in the first period of Minnesota's 2-1 shootout victory over Chicago on Thursday night.

Prosser was assessed a major penalty and a game misconduct on the play.

He will forfeit US$3,864.86 in salary, which goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
