Mitchell scores game-winner as Marlies douse Flames 3-2

MOLINA, Ill. - John Mitchell scored the game-winner in the third period to lift the Toronto Marlies over the Quad City Flames 3-2 on Wednesday in the AHL.

Mitchell's marker came at 9:42 on assists from David Ling and Alex Foster. Ling and Michel Leveille also scored for the Marlies, who lead the North Division at 27-9-0-4. Grant Stevenson and Warren Peters replied for the Flames (18-17-2-5).

Toronto's Justin Pogge stopped 28 of 30, while Matt Keetley blocked 19 of 22 for Quad City.
