Montreal Canadiens assign forward Garth Murray to Hamilton of AHL

MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens assigned forward Garth Murray to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League on Friday.

The 25-year-old Regina native, who has been recovering from a foot injury, has played in just one game this season. He did not record a point.

In 100 career NHL games with the Canadiens and New York Rangers, Murray has recorded eight goals, two assists and 100 penalty minutes.

Murray is expected to report to the Bulldogs on Monday.
