NEW YORK - Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jaroslav Halak was named NHL first star of the week Monday after recording three victories last week.

Halak posted a 1.97 goals-against average and .959 save percentage over the stretch. He stopped at least 46 shots in each game. Chicago Blackhawks right-winger Patrick Kane was the second star and Vancouver Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo was the third star.

Kane had eight points (five goals, three assists) in four games last week. Luongo posted a 3-0-0 record with a 1.00 GAA and .961 save percentage.
