Montreal Canadiens send Matt D'Agostini to St. Louis Blues for Aaron Palushaj

ST. LOUIS - The Montreal Canadiens traded Matt D'Agostini to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for American Hockey League prospect Aaron Palushaj on Tuesday night.

The 23-year-old D'Agostini had two goals and two assists in 40 games with the Canadiens this season. In 94 games with Montreal, the six-foot, 198-pound forward had 14 goals and 11 assists. The Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., native was originally drafted by the Canadiens in the sixth round of the 2005 NHL draft.

D'Agostini is expected to join the Blues on Thursday for their game in Dallas.

In 44 games with the Peoria Rivermen this season, the 20-year-old Palushaj had five goals and 17 assists in 44 games.

The Northville, Mich., native was taken by the Blues 44th overall in the 2007 draft.
