Montreal forward Erik Cole fined $2,500 by the NHL for slew-footing Edmonton's Jeff Petry

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Montreal forward Erik Cole was fined $2,500 by the NHL on Friday for slew-footing Edmonton defenceman Jeff Petry in the Canadiens' 5-3 victory over the Oilers on Thursday night.

Cole was given a minor penalty for tripping on the second-period play.
