New Jersey Devils F Adam Henrique named NHL rookie of the month for December

NEWARK, N.J. - New Jersey Devils forward Adam Henrique has been named the NHL rookie of the month for December.

Henrique led all rookies with 13 points (five goals, eight assists) and he posted a plus-9 rating in 14 games in the month. He edged Ottawa Senators defenceman Jared Cowen (nine points in 13 games), Vancouver Canucks centre Cody Hodgson (eight points in 13 games) and Edmonton Oilers centre Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (eight points in 10 games) for the award.

Henrique tallied points in 10 games, helping the Devils win 10 of 14. The 21-year-old Brantford, Ont., native is second among rookies in scoring with 10 goals and 18 assists in 34 games.
