New Jersey Devils’ Patrik Elias reaches 400-goal milestone
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-1 Friday at the Prudential Center to extend the Leafs winless streak to 11 games.
On a night where the Leafs traded Carter Ashton and David Broll to the Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto didn’t show much on the ice, but Devils veteran forward Patrik Elias certainly did with his 400th career goal.
The 38-year-old native of the Czech Republic, who has never played in the NHL for anyone but the Devils, also has 605 assists and 1005 points across 1197 NHL games. He sits sixth amongst active NHL players in points behind Jaromir Jagr, Joe Thornton, Jarome Iginla, Marian Hossa and Martin St. Louis.
