AHL's Bakersfield Condors Fire Head Athletic Trainer for Alleged Felony Charges

The AHL's Bakersfield Condors said Sunday night they have relieved head athletic trainer Chad Drown of his duties after becoming aware of felony offense charges.

"Earlier today, we became aware that Bakersfield Condors head athletic trainer, Chad Drown, had been charged with very serious felony offences related to (allegedly) contacting a minor to commit a sexual offense in the State of California," the Condors said in a statement.

"We are shocked and dismayed by the news and Mr. Drown has been relieved of his duties immediately."

Bakersfield's NHL parent club, the Edmonton Oilers, said they are working closely with the Condors management and the support the decision to relieve Drown of his duties.

The charges have not been proven in court.
