DENVER (Ticker) -- With the exception of a few games against the
Detroit Red Wings, the Chicago Blackhawks have been unstoppable
of late.
Chicago aims for its third straight win when it visits the
Colorado Avalanche on Thursday.
A stretch that includes a nine-game winning streak, Chicago is
12-2-1 in its last 15 games. All three losses have come against
Detroit, and the Blackhawks have not lost to a team other than
the Red Wings since a 5-2 loss at the Los Angeles Kings on
November 29.
Adam Burish had a goal and two assists and Jonathan Toews scored
twice as the Blackhawks kicked off a three-game road trip with a
6-0 thrashing of Phoenix on Tuesday. Cristobal Huet made 22
saves for his second shutout of the season.
The Avalanche snapped a three-game losing streak with a 2-1
victory over Nashville on Tuesday.
Wojtek Wolski scored both goals, including the go-ahead tally
with 4:13 left in the second period.
Chicago has won five of the past six meetings between the teams,
including both thus far this season.
