I found myself rather disgruntled with the comments made about Brooks Laich's random act of kindness.
As somewhat of a local, I disagree with the idea of his action being blown out of proportion. The story made the local news because of its proximity, the same way a spectacular play or save would have, and there wasn't more than a week of person-to-person chatter.
I agree with the mindset that a person is a person no matter how big the salary. But at the same time, it speaks volumes to not just the Caps or hockey, but for professional sports as a whole.
With all the big contracts and trade talk and the general hub-bub that surrounds professional sports, it's about time the news reported on class acts.
Kudos, Brooks.
