NY Islanders (9-11-2) at Boston (14-4-4), 12:00 pm EST

BOSTON (Ticker) -- For the first time this month, the Boston

Bruins will try to bounce back from a regulation loss.

Boston hopes to get back into the win column when it hosts the

    New York Islanders on Friday.

The Bruins had gone 9-0-1 in November before falling, 3-2, to

the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday. Rookie defenseman Matt Hunwick

and Phil Kessel scored for Boston.

Returning to the TD Banknorth Garden may help Boston avoid

dropping consecutive games for the first time since a three-game

slide from October 20-23. The Bruins have won seven consecutive

home games, the team's longest stretch since an eight-game run

    from November 2-29, 2002.

New York had its two-game winning streak snapped in a 5-3

setback to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday.

Doug Weight, Trent Hunter and Bill Guerin scored for the

Islanders, who had a 3-0 lead at the 9:27 mark of the second

    period.

Boston won three of the four meetings with the Islanders last

    season.
