MONTREAL - With goaltender Cristobal Huet nursing a pulled groin, the Montreal Canadiens recalled Jaroslav Halak from AHL Hamilton on Monday.

Halak will serve as a backup to Carey Price.

Huet is listed as day to day. He has a 7-6-3 record this season with a 2.35 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage. He pulled his groin during Montreal's 5-4 shootout loss to Nashville on Saturday night, in which he allowed four goals in the third period.

The Canadiens will host the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night.
