NEWARK, New Jersey (Ticker) -- The Montreal Canadiens look to
complete an unblemished four-game road trip when they visit the
New Jersey Devils on Friday.
Coming off a 2-1 shootout victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning
on Tuesday, the Canadiens currently are riding their longest
winning streak since notching three consecutive triumphs from
November 29-December 4.
They began a season-best, five-game run one night after
suffering a 2-1 shootout loss to the Buffalo Sabres in their
season opener.
With the triumph over Tampa Bay, Montreal has won five of its
last six games. Before that stretch, it dropped four of five.
After this game, the Canadiens will play four of their next six
contests at home.
New Jersey fell to 14-5-1 in its last 20 games with a 4-2
setback at Dallas on Wednesday. Goaltender Scott Clemmensen
continued his brilliant play of late by making 40 saves, but the
Devils' offense was held in check.
Zach Parise, who has recorded 41 points in his last 32 games,
was kept off the scoresheet.
