The Arizona Coyotes have gotten their man.

The Coyotes re-signed 25-year-old rookie goaltender Karel Vejmelka to a three-year contract worth $2.725 million on Monday.

Despite a 10-22-1 record, Vejmelka has had an impressive showing as an NHL rookie. The former Nashville Predators prospect moved over from the Czech league before the season and has posted a .916 save percentage at 5-on-5. That's a mid-pack stat, but for a rookie forced into a starting role on one of the worst teams in the league, it's a good start.

The news comes after the Coyotes traded Scott Wedgewood to Dallas for a draft pick.
