The Dallas Stars have placed their No. 1 defenseman, Sergei Zubov, on the injured reserve.

The veteran is recovering from hip surgery.

Zubov was limited to only 46 games last season, when he registered 35 points.

The 38-year-old, who was originally drafted in the fifth round of the 1990 draft by the New York Rangers, will be out indefinitely.
