    The unfortunate passing of Don Sanderson in a senior men's league has turned the spotlight once again to fighting in hockey.

    Getting rid of fighting is too drastic for the NHL to undertake. However, there is a compromise.

    Continue to allow fighting, but if a player's helmet comes off at any point in the altercation, the fight must be stopped immediately.

    This rule may help curb fighting and potentially save a life.
