MILTON, Vt. - Former National Hockey League forward John LeClair is due in court next week to face a charge of drunken driving.

LeClair, 38, who was released in December by the Pittsburgh Penguins, was picked up by Vermont State Police in the early morning hours of Oct. 24, said Lt. Dee Glynn, station commander of the VSP Williston barracks. He faces a court date Nov. 13.

The stop occurred on Interstate 89 in Milton, between LeClair's hometown of St. Albans and Burlington, where he starred in men's hockey at the University of Vermont.

LeClair later played for the Montreal Canadiens, the Philadelphia Flyers and the U.S. Olympic hockey team.

LeClair also was charged with drunken driving in 1990, a charge that was later reduced by prosecutors to careless and negligent driving.
