
HAMILTON - Max Pacioretty scored the game winner as the Hamilton Bulldogs held off the Grand Rapids Griffins 2-1 in American Hockey League play Saturday.
The Bulldogs (8-2-3) held a 1-0 lead after Aaron Palushaj scored in the first period. Pacioretty added the eventual winner at 17:56 in the second.
Logan Pyett scored to bring the Griffins to within one at 18:33 in the third, but it was too late for Grand Rapids (7-4-3) to add another.
Hamilton goaltender Curtis Sanford stopped 22 shots, while at the other end Thomas McCollum made 18 saves.
