
The Blackhawks fell 5-2 to Nashville in Game 5 of their first-round series Thursday, but if they're looking for a positive to take away, the obvious candidate is the play of star winger Patrick Kane – as evidenced by Kane's unbelievable spin-o-rama backhanded pass to Kris Versteeg for Chicago's second goal of the night.
The Chicago Blackhawks fell 5-2 to the Nashville Predators in Game 5 of their first-round series Thursday night, but if there's any solace to be taken for the Hawks, it's that star winger Patrick Kane is looking like himself again – as evidenced by an astonishing " target="_blank">spin-o-rama-style, backhanded assist on Kris Versteeg's goal late in the third period.
The Hawks were trailing the host Preds 4-1 with five minutes left in the third period when Kane took the puck deep in Nashville's zone, only to stop, spin and fire a backhanded pass to Versteeg, who slapped it past Predators goalie Pekka Rinne for his first goal of the 2015 post-season and Kane's fourth assist:
The Predators had a strong game, but Chicago still leads the series 3-2 and they're heading home for Game 6 Saturday night in front of a screaming throng at the United Center. And if Kane – who returned to action at the start of the series after missing 21 games due to a broken clavicle – can come through with plays similar to his helper on Versteeg's goal the rest of the series, you've got to like the Blackhawks' odds of coming out on top.
