
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Marco Rosa scored twice and Cory Scheinder made 32 saves as the Manitoba Moose doubled up the Rochester Americans 6-3 in American Hockey League play Tuesday.
Dan Sexton, Nolan Baumgartner, Matt Pettinger and Michael Grabner had the other goals for Manitoba (27-23-6). Nick Boynton added two assists. Shawn Matthias, Jeff Taffe and Michael Duco replied for Rochester (31-23-2).
Rochester opened the scoring at 11:39 of the first when Taffe beat Schneider off a pass from Chris Taylor.
The Moose tied things at 9:37 of the second when Rosa pounced on a loose puck and beat Rochester netminder Alexander Salak.
The Americans restored their lead at 11:44 as Matthias stormed into the Moose zone and beat Schneider under his left goal pad with a quick wrist shot.
The Moose tied things again less than a minute later with Sexton beating Salak off a pass from Lawrence Nycholat.
Baumgartner, just re-assigned to the Moose from the Vancouver Canucks, gave Manitoba the lead at 13:41 on blast from the slot.
Rosa buried his second at 15:57 on a Moose power play off a pass from Boynton to give Manitoba a 4-2 lead.
That was it for Salak, who was replaced by Tyler Plante in goal for the Americans. Salak finished with 17 saves.
The Moose made it 5-2 at 3:09 of the third when Pettinger beat Plante blocker side.
Duco brought Rochester closer at 14:10 but Michael Grabner scored for Manitoba two less two minutes later.
