DENVER (Ticker) -- Rookie goaltender Steve Mason and the

Columbus Blue Jackets look to record their fourth consecutive

shutout when they visit the Colorado Avalanche on Friday.

The 20-year-old Mason posted his third straight blanking and

league-best fifth of the season by turning aside all 27 shots he

faced in a 2-0 triumph over the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday.

Mason, who has not surrendered a goal in a franchise-record 182

minutes, 8 seconds, stopped 10 shots in the first period, five

in the second and nine in the third to secure the shutout.

He also made 24 saves in a 2-0 triumph over the Los Angeles

Kings on Monday and 20 in a 3-0 blanking of the Philadelphia

Flyers on Saturday.

The NHL Rookie of the Month for November, Mason boasts a 12-7-1

record and 1.69 goals-against average in 20 games.

The Blue Jackets, who are in the middle of the six-game road

trip, are 6-10-3 away from home this season.

Colorado had its three-game winning streak come to an end with a

3-1 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes on Wednesday.

The Avalanche finished December with an 8-6-0 record.
