The Hockey News player of the week for the period of Dec. 22 to 20 is Kings rookie netminder Jonathan Quick, who posted a 2-1-0 record with a .974 save percentage, 0.67 goals-against average and two shutouts last week.

Quick, 22, began the week by stopping all 24 shots against the Blue Jackets Dec. 23. He followed that up Dec. 26 by giving up a pair of goals on 26 shots in the front end of a home-and-home against the Coyotes. The 2005 third round pick (72nd overall) bounced right back, however, shuting out the Desert Dogs by making 26 saves and posting another goose egg.

The Milford, Conn., native, who is getting a crack at the NHL after playing 38 ECHL and 19 American League games in 2007-08, is now 2-2-0 in five Kings games this season.
