Chicago (11-6-6) at Detroit (17-4-4), 7:00 pm EST

DETROIT (Ticker) -- The defending Stanley Cup champions have

picked up right where they left off last season.

The Detroit Red Wings will seek their third consecutive victory

Saturday when they host the Chicago Blackhawks.

Jiri Hudler and Daniel Cleary each scored two goals as the Red

Wings held on for a 6-5 victory over the Canucks on Thursday.

Captain Nicklas Lidstrom recorded a goal and two assists and

fellow blue-liner Derek Meech netted his first career goal.

Defenseman Brian Rafalski and Valtteri Filppula each set up a

pair of tallies for Detroit, which has won three of its last

    four.

Martin Havlat, Jonathan Toews and Dave Bolland scored in the

final six minutes as the Blackhawks rallied for a 4-2 triumph

over the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday. The burst helped Chicago

    snap a three-game losing streak.

In their only previous meeting, the Red Wings edged the

    Blackhawks, 6-5, in a shootout.
