NEW YORK - A career-best game helped make Mike Richards the NHL's first star of the week.

The Philadlephia Flyers captain led all scorers with eight points in two games last week. Five of those points came during a 6-3 victory the Buffalo Sabres.

Richards also scored his league-leading seventh short-handed goal as part of a three-point effort in a loss to Pittsburgh.

Florida Panther goalies Tomas Vokoun was given the second star on Monday and Chicago Blackhawks goalie Cristobal Huet was named third star.

Vokoun recorded a pair of shutouts and stopped 115 of 118 shots in three games, helping lift the Panthers into the top eight in the Eastern Conference.

Huet posted a record of 3-1-0 and had one shutout.
