The Arizona Coyotes grabbed Harri Sateri from Toronto; Derrick Pouliot was claimed by the Seattle Kraken from Vegas; and Brad Richardson is headed back to Vancouver after leaving Calgary.
Sateri's situation is notable. Signed by the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday to help the team's goaltending depth, Sateri had a .926 save percentage in 38 games for the KHL’s Novosibirsk Sibir this season. Sateri then was a big reason why Finland won gold in Beijing, posting a 5-0-0 record with a shutout and a .962 save percentage. Sateri is no stranger to NHL action, having played nine games with a 4-4-0 record with San Jose, Florida and Detroit over the past decade. Arizona traded Scott Wedgewood to Dallas on Sunday, so there's a real chance Sateri could see some time down the stretch.
Pouliot also recently signed a contract, although he did get into playing action before getting placed on waivers. At 28, Pouliot got into two games after signing a recent NHL deal, recording one assist. Pouliot has spent hte majority of the year in the AHL, tallying two goals and 19 points in 42 games. Pouliot gives Seattle some defensive depth with over 200 games to his credit.
Richardson, 37, is a pending UFA on a $800,000 cap hit. Richardson has 109 goals and 250 points for six teams, including in a previous run with the Canucks from 2013-15. Richardson had a career-high 19 goals for Arizona in 2018-19.
