Sharks defenceman Rob Davison was activated from the injured list and replaced Smith on the roster. Smith injured his right thigh Monday during the Sharks' 4-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings. He has one goal and five assists this season.
Davison was placed on the injured list on Nov. 4 because of a groin strain. He was in the lineup against Colorado on Wednesday night, his first NHL game this season.
