Henrik Lundqvist has hilarious timing on his retirement night
The New York Rangers retired No. 30 on Friday in honor of one of the team's most recognizable stars, Henrik Lundqvist. Facing off against Mats Zuccarello and the Minnesota Wild, Lundqvist was part of the MSG commentary team offering some opinions on the game and his career.
The best moment, though? Late in the third period, Lundqvist said "don't let that guy score" about Zuccarello, one of Lundqvist's best friends. So, of course, Zuccarello scored immediately after. The timing might have been one of the funniest things you'll see this season.
Brad Marchand and Tyler Seguin battle to see who can get off the ice last
For most of his career, Tyler Seguin has gone toe-to-toe against players to see who'll exit the ice last. It's just a fun bit of superstition for him, really. On Saturday, he found Brad Marchand as his latest combatant, and Marchand wasn't ready to back down himself.
Seguin got the upper hand this time but the war is far from over.
The Calgary Flames threw everything they had at Columbus
The Flames absolutely dominated the Columbus Blue Jackets to the tune of a 6-0 win on Wednesday in one of the most lopsided victories of the year. How one-sided was it? The Flames recorded an eye-popping 62 shots on net, the most in franchise history and the most in a regular-season game for any team since 1991.
Elvis Merzļikins likely won't have a much busier night than that, making a career-high 56-saves.
