    Erik Gudbranson missed the start of this season due to a shoulder injury he suffered while wakeboarding with friends in the summer. And though that unfortunate accident delayed his sophomore season, it did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm Panthers management has for the hulking defenseman.

    At 6-foot-5 and 210 pounds, Gudbranson is both literally and figuratively a big part of Florida’s future. THN.com’s Rory Boylen talks to the second-year defenseman about starting the year on the IR, learning from Ed Jovanovski and much more.
