    The Penguins have had a miserable year, and now, their bobbleheads are stolen. Is it the worst season in the NHL? The Sharks, Sabres, Senators and others are strong competition.

    When the Pittsburgh Penguins found out that thousands of Jaromir Jagr bobbleheads were stolen after they arrived in California, the first person they should have called was the guy who thwarted that terrorist plot right in the middle of a Penguins’ game back in the 1990s. Wait, what’s that? That was a movie, you say? Never mind.

    When it comes to having the worst annus horribilus in the NHL this season, the Penguins are right up there. After all, they went into the season under the delusion that they were a legitimate Stanley Cup contender, then went out and got Erik Karlsson, Reilly Smith and others, only to see the whole thing go sideways. And south in the standings. Now they’re faced with a bigger mess than ever, and it’s going to be a long climb out.

    But wait a minute. At least the Penguins have a few Stanley Cup banners to look at when times get tough. What about the San Jose Sharks, who flirted with being a Cup contender for years and are even worse than the Penguins? What about the Arizona Coyotes, who started the season like gangbusters, then became the Arizona Coyotes again? What about the Buffalo Sabres, who will miss the playoffs for the bazillionth straight season?

    Or what about Columbus? Yeah, the Blue Jackets are bad, as usual, but the Columbus Mavericks of the U.S. Premier League lost a game 37-1 this season. Ouch.

    So, the Penguins might be in misery, but at least they have company. Here's more:
