NHL Players' Association holds online auction to help with Haiti relief

TORONTO - The NHL Players' Association is stepping up its efforts to help the people of Haiti.

The union announced Tuesday that it has launched an online auction, donating several pieces of memorabilia in an effort to raise funds for the Hockey for Haiti project.

Items up for auction include signed jerseys from Sidney Crosby and Zdeno Chara, autographed photos from Alex Ovechkin and Steven Stamkos, and a variety of game-used sticks and game-worn uniforms.

Additional items will continue to be added to the auction, which can be accessed at www.nhlpa.com.

The NHLPA's Goals & Dreams fund has already pledged a donation of $100,000 to Hockey for Haiti. That happened last week when the program was launched in partnership with World Vision.
