PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The NHL is set to unveil plans for the 2012 draft at Pittsburgh's Consol Energy Center.

The league called a news conference for Thursday afternoon to make an official announcement about the June 22-23 draft.

But the news has been out of the bag since the summer and a source confirmed Wednesday it would finally be announced.

It will be the first time Pittsburgh hosted the NHL draft since 1997 at Mellon Arena.

Consol Energy Center opened last year and will be playing host to its first major NHL event.

The 2011 draft was held at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn.
