The Lightning are favorites in the Eastern Conference, and if this is the kind of offense you can expect to see from Tampa Bay, it’s easy to see why.

After Tyler Johnson scored a pair of goals in the first period, the Lightning didn’t waste any time getting out to a 3-0 lead. With less than a minute gone in the second period, winger Nikita Kucherov took a beautiful stretch pass from Matthew Carle and made no mistake on the breakaway.

Not only was the stretch pass beautiful vision from Carle, it sprung Kucherov with little to no chance for the Penguins defense to catch him.

Then, the 21-year-old threw down a move that you would rarely see in a shootout, let alone live play less than a minute into a period. Marc-Andre Fleury had absolutely no chance. The goal was Kucherov’s 14th of the year, and his second point of the night. Before the second period was through, Kucherov had added a second assist for a three-point night.
