Oilers hope to generate sparks against Stars

Edmonton (10-10-2) at Dallas (7-11-4), 6:00 pm EST

DALLAS (Ticker) -- The Edmonton Oilers entered this season with

lofty expectations and have faltered since a promising start.

After dropping five of their last seven games, the Oilers hope

to begin a stretch of consistency when they visit the struggling

Dallas Stars on Sunday.

Edmonton began the season with four straight wins, but have

since failed to win more than two in a row at any time. The

Oilers snapped a two-game skid with a 4-2 victory over the St.

Louis Blues on Saturday and have the chance to notch a two-game

win streak for the first time since November 9-10 in this

Though Edmonton is 0-3-1 at home in November, it has been

impressive on the road, going 6-3-0 this month.

Dallas has also failed to generate any positive momentum and

things have not gotten easier without injured captain Brenden

Morrow, who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the

Stars' 6-3 loss on November 20. Since then, they are 1-2-1.

Dallas, another club that entered with high hopes, has yet to

record a winning streak. The Stars have surrendered three or

more goals in six of their 11 games in November.
