EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) -- The struggling Edmonton Oilers

look to keep pace in the Western Conference playoff race

Thursday when they host the surging Atlanta Thrashers.

The Oilers have lost seven of their last 10 contests but enter

this contest tied with Nashville (33-39-5) for the seventh and

eighth spots in the West.

Edmonton will look to rebound from Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss

at Montreal, which rallied thanks to Saku Koivu's goals in the

third period and overtime.

Defenseman Sheldon Souray had a goal and an assist for the

Oilers, who scored three times in the second period but managed

a total of just nine shots in the third period and overtime.

Edmonton will host an Atlanta club that is riding a three-game

Thrashers posted a 3-0 victory Tuesday over Colorado thanks to

Kari Lehtonen, who made 35 saves for his third shutout this

season.
