The Chicago Blackhawks did not make Connor Bedard available to the media following their 4-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs Monday night, and this is apparently standard procedure.

The Blackhawks almost never make Bedard available after losses to speak to reporters. Chances are, Bedard would not have been in a great mood after a game in which he had just three shot attempts and zero shots on goal. He provided the perfect example of a player who was trying to do everything and accomplishing almost nothing.

Blackhawks coach Luke Richardson said after the game that Bedard has actually been pretty good lately, and he's right. Bedard had four points in three games heading into Monday's contest. There has been some frustration this season, but Richardson sees Bedard turning a corner.

With this team, though, it looks as though there will be more losing before any kind of consistent winning begins.
