    OTTAWA - Defenceman Filip Kuba is staying put in Ottawa.

    The Senators have re-signed the Czech blue-liner to a three-year deal worth US$3.7 million per season.

    Kuba was set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and had been on the trading block heading into today's trade deadline. He is earning $3 million this season.

    Kuba, 32, has recorded two goals and 27 assists in 54 games this season and is a team-leading plus-8. He has 57 goals and 179 assists with 263 penalty minutes in 585 career games.
