Ottawa Senators recall centre Stephane Da Costa from AHL Binghamton

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Ottawa Senators recalled centre Stephane Da Costa from the club's American Hockey League in Binghamton, N.Y., on Friday.

The 22-year-old started the season with Ottawa, registering five points (three goals, two assists) and eight penalty minutes in 22 games before being assigned to the AHL on Nov. 27.

In 21 games with Binghamton this season, Da Costa has nine goals and 10 assists.

The Frenchman was signed as an undrafted college free agent by the Senators in March 2011. He scored his first NHL goal in Ottawa's 6-5 loss at Toronto on Oct. 8.

The Senators were hobbled in Thursday's win over the San Jose Sharks as forwards Zack Smith and Kaspars Daugavins both left with injuries.

Ottawa continues it's six-game road trip Saturday afternoon in Anaheim against the Ducks.
