Ottawa's McAmmond, Anaheim's Kunitz still doubtful for Game 4

McAmmond, knocked out by a forearm to the head by defenceman Chris Pronger in Game 3, had a short skate and a turn on the stationary bicycle Monday morning and said he feels better than he did a day earlier.

"I actually feel pretty god," said McAmmond, who had the winning goal in a 5-3 Senators win on Saturday before he was injured. "I took a pretty good shot on the chin.

"But as far as playing, we'll see how I feel."

Sens coach Bryan Murray said McAmmond "would like to play, but he's certainly not 100 per cent."

If McAmmond can't play, winger Patrick Eaves will likely return to the lineup.

Pronger was given a one-game suspension for the hit to McAmmond's head early in the third period of Game 3. The veteran defenceman can return for Game 5 on Wednesday night in Anaheim.

Joe DiPenta will take his place in the lineup.

The Ducks may also be without Kunitz, one of their top wingers, who suffered an abdominal bruise in a collision in Game 3. He had just returned from missing seven games with a broken finger.

Coach Randy Carlyle said a decision would be made before the game on whether he will play.

"You never risk a player's health or well-being," said Carlyle. "Every player will tell you he's ready. This is the Stanley Cup final. Sometimes you have to make a decision that the player doesn't agree with but you don't want to jeopardize a player's chances to come back at a later date."

NHL Off-Season Outlook: Anaheim Ducks

The Anaheim Ducks have a decent core, but there's lots of tinkering left on the horizon. They need improvement from within, as well as a boost from some new faces, if they’re going to move up the Pacific standings.
