Tampa Bay’s Brandon Hagel has been red hot with a goal and 11 points over their last 12 games

Thursday has ten matchups on the NHL slate with an abundance of choices for our next addition to the Pad Stacking Challenge. We are at a current total of $57 thanks to the Blackhawks failing to score three goals last night.

If you aren’t familiar, our new betting challenge uses the concept of building our bank and rolling over our profits. We do this by stacking our winnings through well-researched picks given out daily that will hopefully build our bank.

We started our climb once again on Monday and hit thanks to Evgeni Malkin who then pasted on the good luck to Alex Lyon and the Detroit Red Wings, who then passed the success along to the Blues last night.

Tonight, we’ve found another solid addition to the Challenge from the fiery matchup between the Senators and Lightning.

All betting lines are from BetMGM and are subject to change. Hockey is a difficult sport to predict so please gamble responsibly.

Bet: Brandon Hagel Over 0.5 points (-135)

The Senators have been one of the worst road teams in the league with a 14-22-2 record and a bottom ten goals against average at 3.39 this season. They also are expected to start Joonas Korpisalo in net, who has improved lately despite his 3.25 goals against average this season but will be in a tough matchup against the league’s fourth best home offense that averages 3.84 goals per game.

They have given Korpisalo nightmares as the Finnish netminder has a 3-5-1 record with a goals against average of 3.97 in 13 career games against the Bolts. This should play well for winger Brandon Hagel, who has been one of the Bolts standout forwards this season with 24 goals and 72 points, which is more than star players like Mika Zibanejad, Connor Bedard and Tim Stutzle.

He has continued to be productive as of late with a goal and 11 points over his last 12 games. He also has a good not great record when playing Ottawa with three goals and five points in eight career matchups with an assist in their most previous meeting.

If Hagel has a bad night, he’ll still see chances to find the scoresheet as he plays on a line with Bolts Captain Steven Stamkos. The Markham native has put together another stellar season at age 34 and still remains to be one of the teams top goal-scorers with 39 goals. He helped his team secure a playoff spot with 14 goals and 21 points over their last 12 games.

Stamkos is red hot and should help Hagel get on the scoresheet. If we look to roll our $57 from last night with Hagel, we would improve our winnings to $99.75 so far.
