Pavelski, goalie Emery, Subban named three stars of the week in the NHL

NEW YORK, États-Unis - San Jose Sharks centre Joe Pavelski, goaltender Ray Emery of the Anaheim Ducks and Montreal Canadiens defenceman P.K. Subban are the three stars of the week in the National Hockey League.

Pavelski led the league with 11 points in four games, including four assists in a 6-3 victory over Dallas, to take first star honours. With eight assists, the 26-year-old reached 41 for the season and passed his previous high of 34. His 57 points are two shy of his career best 59 from 2008-09.

Emery went 2-0-0 with a 0.99 goals-against average and .968 save percentage. He made 30 saves in a 2-1 win over St. Louis on Wednesday in his first NHL start since Feb. 1, 2010 with Philadelphia. He also helped the Ducks to a 2-1 overtime win over Los Angeles.

Emery was signed as a free agent by Anaheim on Feb. 7 and played his first NHL game for the Ducks in a relief appearance on March 13.

Subban had four goals and two assists in four games, including his first career hat trick plus an assist in an 8-1 win in Minnesota on Sunday.

The 21-year-old became the first Canadiens rookie defenceman to score three goals in a game. He is the first Montreal rearguard with a hat-trick since Sheldon Souray in 2003 and the first Habs rookie with three goals since winger Oleg Petrov in 1993.
