Penguins captain Sidney Crosby given second assist after NHL review

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Sidney Crosby's return to the NHL was even better than originally thought.

The Pittsburgh Penguins captain was awarded a second assist from Thursday's 5-2 victory over the New York Rangers following a review by the NHL on Friday.

After the game, Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said he thought Crosby had tipped a point shot prior to Pascal Dupuis scoring on a rebound in the third period.

NHL officials agreed and gave Crosby credit for the assist retroactively.

The Penguins star has 14 points (2-12) in nine games this season.
