Penguins forward Matt Cooke suspended for two games for hit to head

TORONTO - Pittsburgh Penguins forward Matt Cooke has been suspended for two games for hitting Carolina forward Scott Walker in the head during a game last week.

Cooke was assessed a minor penalty for interference against Walker at 12:58 of the first period in the Jan. 20 game. Walker left the ice and did not return.

Cooke will miss games against the New York Rangers on Wednesday and New Jersey on Friday. He will be eligible to return Saturday in Toronto.
