Phoenix Coyotes captain Shane Doan misses Game 6 with a shoulder injury

DETROIT - The Phoenix Coyotes scratched Shane Doan from the lineup Sunday for Game 6 against the Detroit Red Wings.

Doan has not played since his right shoulder took the brunt of his collision with the endboards early in the second period of Game 3.

The forward had a goal and an assist during the first two games, which were split in Phoenix. The captain from Halkirk, Alta., led the Coyotes with 55 points during the regular season.

Doan was drafted No. 7 overall in 1995 by the Winnipeg Jets and he has 678 points with the franchise, which moved to Phoenix for the 1996-97 season.
