Phoenix Coyotes re-signed forward Radim Vrbata to multi-year contract

GLENDALE, Ariz. - The Phoenix Coyotes re-signed forward Radim Vrbata to a multi-year contract Saturday.

“Radim is an important player for us and fits in well with our group," Coyotes GM Don Maloney said in a statement. "He will be counted on to contribute offensively for us.”

The six-foot-one, 197-pound Vrbata had 19 goals and 48 points in 79 games with Phoenix this season. He added two goals and three assists in the club's four playoff games against Detroit.

Vrbata, 30, has spent nine seasons in the NHL with Phoenix, Tampa Bay, Chicago, Carolina and Colorado. He has registered 148 goals and 323 points in 601 career regular-season games.
