The 22-year-old Talbot had game-winning goals in his past three AHL games. He has scored four times in five games this season for Wilkes-Barre.
Talbot, from Lemoyne, Que., appeared in 48 games with Pittsburgh last season and had eight points.
He was originally drafted by the Penguins in the eighth round of the 2002 draft.
