The Hockey News

The Hockey News player of the week for the period of March 10-16 is San Jose Sharks defenseman Brian Campbell.

The smooth-skating Campbell had one goal and five points in three games for the Sharks, as San Jose continues to thrive with its new red-headed rearguard in the lineup.

Since acquiring Campbell from Buffalo at the trade deadline, San Jose has earned 19 of a possible 20 points.

That string of success has helped the Sharks move to top spot in the hotly contested Pacific Division.

Overall this season with both the Sabres and Sharks, Campbell has seven goals and 47 points, good for a tie for third in the league.
