The Hockey News

The Hockey News player of the week for the period of March 24-30 is Boston Bruins center David Krejci.

With his team fighting tooth and nail to lock down a playoff spot in the East, the 21-year-old Krejci averaged two points a game over four contests as the Bruins nabbed seven of a possible eight points. The Czech rookie's three goals and eight points brought his season totals to six goals and 26 points in 53 games.

Two other players deserve honorable mention for their performances. Nashville goalie Dan Ellis enhanced his team's playoff chances by allowing just one goal in three contests and Joe Thornton made the switch from set-up man to sniper by scoring seven times in four games for San Jose.
